King Abdulaziz Royal Reserve was established in 2018 to be used in preserving and developing the natural existence for the use of environmental sustainability. It is located in the north of Riyadh city on an area ranging between 28 thousand square kilometers, including its regions (the gardens of Al-Khafs, Al-Tanha, and Noura, and part of the Al-Samman Plateau, and the Dahna Desert), which are areas that contain a long-standing historical establishment, and the reserve is disappearing from the natural components, as it includes different types of animals, plants and microorganisms that coexist with each other in an area with diverse landmarks and famous, and hunting, camping, firewood and overgrazing are prohibited; an attack on the vegetation cover and its increase, encroachment on the biodiversity of native, fragile and endangered species .

King Abdulaziz Reserve includes within its borders Tanhat Meadow, the largest meadow in the Kingdom in terms of area, where acacia, sidr, chrysanthemum, buttercup and lavender trees abound. A number of valleys run through it, namely Wadi Al-Shawki, Wadi Al-Tayri, Wadi Al-Atak and Wadi Al-Wadi, in addition to Al-Khafs Meadow and the surrounding areas, which are a natural environment suitable for the resettlement of wild animals and plants, by including them within the framework of protection from hunting, overgrazing and firewood cutting in the region, increasing and protecting the vegetation cover, developing and preserving the natural environment for animals and plants, and restoring the ecological balance within the reserve.
