قلعة الألزم

Azlm Castle

Al-Azlam or Al-Aznam Castle is a historical fortress in the Duba Governorate in the Tabuk region, northwest of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Its construction dates back to the fourteenth century AD, and was established by land movement on the Egyptian coastal Hajj Road, in a site known as Al-Aznam, which was designated as a resting place for pilgrims traveling to Mecca.

The castle is square in shape, built of limestone, and its location on a high hill gave it further fortification. Its walls are 7 meters high and 90 meters long, and are made of carved stone courses. It has an entrance leading to a courtyard that combines the inner rooms topped with semi-circular domes. The castle includes four towers designed on two levels, ground and upper.
