King Abdullah International Gardens project is located in a desert area west of Riyadh, along the Jeddah Expressway, on an area of ​​2.2 million square meters. It combines multiple models of ancient and modern international gardens, and different climatic environments. It also knows the historical environment of the region and how it developed over time by integrating history with nature.

The project consists of a group of large gardens and other smaller gardens. The six gardens are: the indoor covered botanical gardens, and the outdoor open garden overlooking the valley. It was designed in the shape of two crescents with an area of ​​24 acres and aims to educate visitors about the plant changes that occurred thousands of years ago in the desert area with the aim of educating them about the changes in the emergence, development and adaptation of plants, and the scientific, water, international and natural gardens. Other branched gardens include: bird, butterfly, reptile, flower, light and sound gardens, a physics and discovery garden, a maze and gardens for children. There is also a botanical museum, a seed bank and a gene bank, a valley walkway and observation towers, and a celebration square.

The project also includes parks for families and youth, and integrated service facilities such as markets, theaters, seating areas, cafes, playgrounds, etc., in addition to other complementary elements such as the main squares for celebrations and events, for holding exhibitions and festivals, seating and picnic areas, the administration building, the agricultural nursery, mosques, air conditioning and electricity complexes, security buildings, ticket centers, and parking lots that can accommodate more than 50,000 cars.
