Samnan Valley
Samnan Valley is one of the most important valleys of Zulfi. It descends from Tuwaiq Mountain and heads westward, branching out before the center of Rawdah – Al-Haitan – into several branches surrounding the old towns of Zulfi. It is adjacent to the city of Zulfi from the southeast, starting from the heights of Tuwaiq Mountain above Malih, then the Shagaya and ravines gather and head from south to north, then the valley deepens and grows and leans northwest. After 20 km from its heights, it reaches the outskirts of the city of Zulfi, the Tuwaiq Mountain Fault, and from there it heads west, leaving Zulfi on its right until it reaches the Nafud, 6 km from its exit from the mountain. In the past, Zulfi and some of its villages, after God, almost depended on this valley as a source of surface water and shallow groundwater, as it is characterized by its abundant floods and the rarity of its dry years.
