Zabal Castle

Zaabal Castle in Al-Jouf region is considered one of the most important historical and heritage landmarks in the region, making it a major destination for visitors and tourists.

Zabal Castle is located in the northwestern part of the city of Sakaka in the Al-Jouf region, and it is believed that its construction dates back 200 years ago; to protect a trade route, and secure the city of Sakaka; as it is a fortified site overlooking the oasis.

The castle was built of irregular sandstone and clay, on a rocky hill about 30 meters high, on the ruins of an older castle, as a purely military facility; as it only contains two rooms inside it.

The castle consists of a main entrance, located in the southeastern side adjacent to the southeastern tower of the castle, and this entrance is small and can only be climbed through one path from the mountain, which is a stone staircase, and the higher the castle rises, this staircase narrows, and the castle also includes four cylindrical towers in its corners
